Front Grill Surround Trim Spotting

New Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid purchased last week. Drove home from dealer about 80 miles away, washed the car and very upset over the condition of the grill surround trim. It should be a nice shiny chrome like the bumperettes, or polished aluminum with a protective coating, but it's not. Not sure just what it is. Doesn't seem to be metal, nor does it seem to be plastic. It just spots when washed, and doesn't shine very well at all. My Niro is silver with light blue accents on the front and rear bumperettes. I'm thinking of getting a detailer to put a matching wrap over the bumper surround. Then putting a sealant coating on the wrap. Thoughts?

Picture is of the front of the Niro from a professional published image, not my car, but the same paint and trim.

Front Grill Surround

Here are the pictures of the grill on my Niro. Still looks worse in person. Just a dull finish seems to show in these pictures. I've gone ahead and contracted with an installer for a "wrap" of the grill in the same aqua colors as the bumperettes on the plug-in hybrid. I think it will be a good contrast to the silver finish of the car. Worse case, I can peal it off if I don't like it and I'm out "a few" bucks on the process.

Well, since my Niro is white, my grill is all black! However, yours appears to be matte silver in the pic. to get the water spots off of it I would use a Mr Clean Magic Eraser, along with some Quik Detailer. That followed up with sealer. Your idea of the wrap sounds like an excellent plan. Maybe black matte, or shiny, your call. What ever you do, post a finished pic, good luck!!
