Cars destined overseas are filled with 50 plus psi to avoid flat spots from storage and shipping to destination. As part of dealer prep, they are supposed to be dropped to the recommended pressure before delivery but it is apparently an easy task to forget.
I'd drop it to the recommended pressure of 36 psi. Not much change in rolling resistance past that point (in the summer, 36 psi goes up to 40 psi driving at highway speeds), but noise and harshness increase, and tire life and handling decrease.
