New owner from New England

So far, I'm liking this car. Getting really good milage now and I can't wait to see what I get on good gas and warm weather come spring.

Welcome to the forum tbaleno!

There are a few people on this forum, who have some problems with their winter gas consumption. For how long do you have your Niro already?

Welcome aboard NIRO Owner.

Bought mine in Feb 2017 and it is now Nov 2017 (so not a lot of winter experience on MPG). I am going to say (a guess) don't expect more than 2 MPG change (Winter / Summer or Whatever).

Good idea to post your Fill-Ups on FUELLY -- then the world (that looks for it) can see a good actual MPG.

I wish it was only 2 MPG difference between seasons. I've seen a 6-7 MPG drop in my tanks since it started going below 50.

Too bad that Kia hasn't taken more pages out of what Mazda already does well in which is some of the most fuel efficient gasoline engines you can buy today. What are the odds they will go that direction in the future?

I've only had mine for 1 tank so far but it averaged 50 something mpg. Average temperature is about 40F. Also, I have an 03 civic hybrid I bought in december of 02 so I have been driving a hybrid for a long time. On the Niro I'm able to get around 56 mpg on my trip to work 1/2 highway 1/2 suburb driving on most days but short trips knock the overall milage down especially if it is only a few mile drive where the car barely gets a chance to warm up.

Oh, and I noticed my dealer put 45lbs of pressure in the tires. Kind of dangerous for snow driving but it sure helps the mileage alot.

Likely, I am off on the 2MPG (Estimate) for winter change. We have not been thru any real winter periods in East TN since FEB 2017 purchase. Probably only seen range of 40sF to 90sF in that time period when we were actually out driving. Just saying, haven't seen any large variations on my Fill Ups (21 Fill Ups and all between 50 and 53MPG).
