Seeing those curves on the hood makes me more curious about how air is guided from where it starts on the hood, makes its way up the hood and off to the side. Even the side mirrors could play into it, looks like it connects and even guides part of the flow.

I'm not sure but it looks like the air is directed from the hood to halfway up the windshield. Wonder if that's what auto makers strive for, a stream that hits higher up on the windshield so it doesn't touch as much of the front thus reducing drag.

I'm actually more interested in the stream going into the front air intake and then leaving through the wheel area. Does that air do anything, serve a purpose of some kind of does it just goes right through?

Well that is also a key area and probably the most vital since I can imagine that its where air is most intense and in that they can use it to their advantage to channel where needed

But the air stream doesn't seem to be channeled anywhere inside the car, at least not the air directly hitting the front grille. Kind of expected it to go into the engine to cool it off.

Miss that part of what you said but here they are only showing a few key areas air hits and as you can imagine being a product they'll want to show some of the most significant areas where air flow was best optimized.

We'll have to wait for more examples of how exactly air flow goes through the engine bay.
