PHEV lifetime

I'm expecting the following powertrain component lifetimes

PHEV vs traditional ICE based

1) ICE. 3x longer

50% Local miles. Frequent cold start short trips. All handled by motor EV. Mode

50% Long trips, mostly freeway. ICE steady 2000 RPM. Motor as needed for hills and passing. ICE rarely above 3000 rpm.

Motor same as transmission?

2) Transmission 1x same

3) Brakes 10x longer

Kinetic energy =square of speed

Assume regen down to 10 mph, 30mph to 10mph = 90% wear reduction. 60mph to 10mph = 97% wear reduction.

4) Battery, weakest link, 10 yr warranty

How many miles are you expecting on tradional versus hybrid engine since you are expecting half your miles to be in ev?

6000mi long trips (1500mi x 4)

6000mi EV mode ( 20miles/day x 300 days)

12000mi total
