It seems that my Niro does not remember the gauge lighting brightness setting between drives. So for example, when I turn the car on at night, the gauge cluster lights up and it's at max brightness, i.e 20 out of 20. So I notch it down a few, say to 16 or 15, because 20 is too bright for me at night. Then the next time I drive it at night, it's back up at 20. It will not remember that I set it to 16 the last time I drove it in the dark.
Is this just me or is it happening to everyone? I'd love for it to remember what I set the brightness to between drives.
That's for the center console screen. I'm talking about the gauge cluster. The illumination switch works, I can decrease or increase the gauge brightness manually, but it doesn't remember the setting I leave it on, and I have to adjust it every time I drive at night.
So does mine. Although it did change unexpectedly once blinding me, but perhaps that was after a battery reset - not sure but it was just the one time. That does change a couple of things, like the displayed average mpg.
Resurrecting an old thread. I have this same problem with my dash lights. I have set the touch screen console brightness to a comfortable level, which the vehicle remembers, but the dash instrument cluster lights are blindingly bright when the auto lights switch to night mode. The vehicle won't remember the settings from when I adjust them dimmer and I can't find a setting to adjust the brightness semi-perminantly.
Does anyone have a work-around or other solution? I have a 2017 Niro Hybrid.
