120 Volt Electrical Outlet Power Source

Does anyone know whether the 12 Volt battery or the High Voltage Traction Battery provides power for the 120 Volt Electrical Outlet in the Touring Model Hybrid?

I was wondering if I could use a relatively low wattage 120 Volt fan for use if sleeping in the vehicle overnight in the summer time without leaving me stranded come morning?

Thanks,
Clayton

It's a 115 volt, 12 amp charge that runs from the low current DC controller, so it runs off of the 12V battery system in accessory mode. While the car will duty cycle the hybrid system to maintain charge when the vehicle is on, it will disconnect the power at the critical point once you have the vehicle in accessory mode.

I would just leave the windows cracked or use a battery powered option.

Using a twelve volt fan is far more efficient the way the Niro is configured. Available in any auto parts store or online. But as Michael Jones points out, you do have to leave the car on if you want it to run all night. Some Niro and Ioniq owners leave the car on with AC all night while car camping. I haven't tried this myself, but I might this summer. At some point, it will probably cycle the engine, not sure how long the traction battery will last running AC.
