DOT4 brake fluid has a higher boiling point than DOT3, making the fluid less likely to boil. ... Dot 3, 4, and 5.1 are glycol ether based. They are compatible, but like motor oils, you should use the recommended or higher grade fluid. Dot 4 and 5.1 also have borate ester to handle higher temperatures.

why? do you think the liquid goes to high temperature acutating just a clutch?

Probably gets pretty warm next to the tranny and engine though but don't think it will be near a boiling point might as well use the Dot4 though.

Another 165 miles definitely almost clear. The temp of the fluid was at 113 degrees after a 45 minute ride.

113F? if yes then 45C absolutely nothing extreme... no need for extra heat resistance for such fluid



as this page :https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brake_fluid
states:

DOT 3 dry 205 C (401 F) Wet 140 C (284 F)


so event if it is 113C you are talking about, we are ok.
