I got the SX trim in black color. I wanted to get the Gravity Blue, but that would mean a 3 months wait. I had a VW Tigaun earlier, though I love the car, the drive and the pano sunroof, it was using just too much gas. Premium gas requirement + higher gas prices meant I was putting in $350/month for gas. I just couldn't justify that any longer.
I looked into Tesla M3 and Niro EV SX, but both of those were just out of my budget allocated by my wife. LOL. And Niro EV EX didn't have many of the features I wanted to get. Kona Preferred had all those features except that it's trunk is too small for my needs. So the next best thing was Niro PHEV. And Lockwood Kia in Oakville had one in stock. So I didn't hesitate as soon as I test drove it I figured it'd meet my demands for the next 7-8 years.
Yes, I got the $2500 rebate and a decent value for my trade-in. And now hoping to not spend much time at gas stations other than when getting a car wash!
BTW, one thing I forgot to check, does it use regular gas or premium gas? I hope it's the regular.
: Think of it this way, by the time you'll be replacing ur HEV, the EVs would've improved so much that you won't need to have the gas component any more. That's how I see mine for now.
, the license plate protector just protects ur plate and sticker so they don't get damaged from road debris and/or small bumps. Replacing a damaged license plate is extra hassle I can do without. As for the mats, I think the Tux mats look better, and cheaper, than the Kia All-weather mats.
I'm just a tad worried about not being able to find someone to install a hitch on the car, as it requires a bit of a hack. And I wonder if that will void the warranty!
