Yet Another Niro Newbie (14th Aug 2019)

Have got Niro PHEV ex demonstrator (not facelifted)
So far OK but oh dear - those instruction books are enough to drive you mad!!
Observations so far:
Why does the SatNav not major on postcodes - the rest of the country does, so why not Kia??)

Lack of spare wheel
Boot not at all flexible (having come from a Nissan Note whose boot was (on paper) smaller than the niro, but oh so much better to use)
Very comfortable and quiet to drive - have not used petrol motor at all in the first week of ownership)

Welcome to the club, you'll enjoy the PHEV Niro!

1) Sorry, I don't use the factory SatNav, I use Google Maps via Apple CarPlay.
2) Yeah lack of spare sucks, you can get one from Kia or carry around an extra tube of green slime to repair punctures.
3) I have no idea what you mean about the boot not being flexible? Yeah there's no storage shelves, but it has a retractable cover and the seats split 60/40 and fold completely flat. It even has cargo tie down hooks. There's more functionality in the Niro boot than my last car. The HEV and BEV versions have extra space underneath the floor in case you want to carry around a spare, but the PHEV battery takes up that room unfortunately.

Android auto and UVO rocks and everything I need for entertainment and navigation. I won't be using the built in navi but looks simple enough with usual standard option and menu "names".

no spare is very norm now days in the context of fuel saving. I am planning to get a set from junked Soul/Veloster/Optima/etc with same wheel/tire size as my S-Touring 18 inch wheel.

The graphic design of the built-in nav is an affront to my eyesight. Both Google and Apple maps using CarPlay are much better.

Welcome!

Please add your location to your profile, as it really helps knowing where you are for some questions. Also suggest adding your car info (year, model and trim level) in your signature line.
