The new Niro

I'm really looking forward to seeing and test driving the new Niro as soon as it becomes available here in So Cal. I love the way it looks. I've had my very dependable little Ford Escort SE Wagon for 17 years now and I'm ready for a change. I think I would really enjoy a small practical 50 mpg Hybrid wagon. My concerns are Ingress/Egress, front seat comfort and price. since it is a totally new model I will be hoping that I don't have to use that long warranty very often, if at all.

Welcome to the fold! Not sure about the comfort and ingress/egress but they do have a few pictures here for a general idea: https://www.kianiroforum.com/forum/9-....html#post6498

What price point are you hoping for?

Interesting move considering Ford has some cool stuff going on at the moment.

What made you want to choose Kia over other brands out their, especially the american brands since I notice most in american cars right now tend to stay with them.

Alex, I've owned lots of cars from many brands over my last 55 years of driving. I've owned both foreign and domestics. The cars from Ford today bear no resemblance to the cars from 17 years ago. I don't care for the looks of the C-Max and I really don't like what I've read in reviews. I was wary of Korean cars until recently. It seems Kia and their parent company Hyundai have come a long way in the last few years and I was looking for a small SUV that was a hybrid but didn't look "Goofy" like the new Prius.

Fair enough, i've also been seeing that sort of change going on and really at the moment the only thing that interests me from them is the Focus, Focus ST specifically. Now only if they had that available as an SUV i'd be all over it.

There really isn't a ton of options for hybrid SUVs, unti you get into luxury vehicles.

One good option is the Toyota Highlander and someone willing to buy one used can get them for a good price and being a Toyota you really can't go wrong even past the original warranty. Something to consider.
