We live in the District of Columbia and we did invoke the lemon law after the hybrid system gauge failed to work properly two days after we drove our 2017 Kia Niro LX off the lot. The dealer and Kia Corporate were unclear on how to fix it (complicated by the fact the odometer was on the same instrument panel and a third party needed to handle that), and after about two months of driving a rental, we cried uncle and uttered the words lemon law. Kia was great. They offered to either replace our vehicle with an exact replica, or a similarly valued Kia (different model of our choice), or give us cash while we awaited a field specialists' inspection and repair. We went with a replacement Niro and drove it for 28,000 miles (until it was stolen). We plan on replacing it with a 2019 model. Good luck!
