Niro PHEV resale values
Our PHEV is very likely to use less than 4 fill ups per year. At 400 mile gas range that is only 1600 miles. Over the year the PHEV likely will be driven 13,400 miles pure EV.
In pricing resale values of ICE only cars the year and the mileage come into the calculation.
With a PHEV the electric motor has only 20% of the wear and tear an ICE has. Also the electric motor removes a lot of the stress on braking. It appears if mileage alone is used in pricing then a PHEV driven non electric for most of say 15,000 miles will have the same mileage as one mostly driven pure EV.
Should or does KIA have an hour meter on the hybrid gas engine that would if it showed a very low number of hours help get increased value on resale for those who drive mostly EV mode?
