Best as I understand it, wireless CarPlay requires specifically enabled cars with compatible hardware, including built in WiFi. Very few such models around, mostly Mercedes and BMW (including Mini). Not sure Google has even publicly released wireless AA specifications yet. A new car will be needed, our current cars will not work. There are aftermarket wireless CarPlay units available but wow, a lot of work and money to install.

They're actually installing AA in the head unit with message transfer over Bluetooth. You can also add the car to your Google account. Dodge showed off a tech demo at the LA auto show last year.
