2018 Kia Niro EX No Compass?

Mr. Kia how could you.....

2018 Kia EX...does not have Navigation option....it does not have a Compass?????

Really, all my cars since the 90's, and not any where near top of the line...all have had Compasses?

How will I ever know what direction I am traveling when driving my 2018 Kia Niro....

If somehow I missed finding how to display the Compass....Please...tell me where and how.

The compass is an add-on accessory, built into the self dimming rear view mirror.

Check this link, then scroll down about halfway to see the info on the compass.

Can't wait for Kia to start introducing digital display clusters sort of like what Audi has because when that happens we will have a much more accurate compass via GPS.

My 2018 Niro EX came with the Electronic Dimming RearView Mirror....but if I want a Compass, I would need to purchase a different model New Auto Dimming RearView Mirror that would include a Compass from Kia.....

Why would Kia manufacture different models of the Auto Dimming RearView Mirror one with a compass, one without? But only put the model without the compass in the vehicle from the factory? Is it just to make a customer who wants a Compass go out and pay Kia for the same Mirror again...but purchase the model with a Compass? Doesn't seem very customer friendly.......

The company who makes those mirrors, Gentex, makes many models with pretty much every combination of options available. They seem to be the go-to OEM dimming mirror for pretty much every car manufacturer today. Every manufacturer needs to choose which features to include for their various trim levels. Chances are, they will not satisfy everyone in their choices.

Don't get me wrong - I totally agree with you, it SHOULD have been included with the upper trim levels...

Anyway, if you really want to add it and can afford it, it can be done. Like any other option, be it factory or aftermarket, its all about the $$.

(sorry, apparently this crappy forum's links to previous search results only last an hour or so - just search "gentex" on this forum to find the 5 previous threads discussing this rearview mirror upgrade)

I don't see a setting for that in Maps. However my OS is not up-to-date.

Usage....it is the same kind of little feature that is nice to have, like the outside temp. as an example. Not earth shattering, but something that as I wrote in my original Post, has come with all my cars since the 90's....and I Posted to make sure that I missed a Menu item where the Compass could be displayed.

I do have AndroidAuto on my phone and if used will provide Compass ...but I don't like having to plug/unplug phone each time I get in/Out of car.
