A couple of days after washing and protecting the stock Michelin tires, they turn brown again. Has anyone else noticed this?

The last time, I used Purple Power (I ran out of dedicated tire cleaner) and tire brush to clean the tires and then coated (2x) with CarPro PERL. The car is garage kept and wasn’t driven that much after washing.

I used almost the same process on the Pirellis on my other vehicle and they are still looking good even after a longer time in between washes.

Might be a little too dark, but in one pic you can see a light brown ring on the outer edge of the tire, and in the other, most of the tire wall is a light brown instead of a uniform black. I made sure to put two applications of CarPro PERL on each tire. As I mentioned, the tires of my other car, which sits in the driveway, look better than my Niro’s...and it hasn’t been washed in a while.

It's call blooming and it's because certain additives added to the tire can oxidize when they come to the surface How old are the tires on the Niro vs the other Vehicle? It could definitely be difference in manufacturing process between the factories where the two different tire sets where made.

Cleaning and dressing is pretty much the only thing you can do. Apply a good tire cleaner, with a tire brush, let sit 2 minutes, rinse a lot. Dry a lot, like completely dry. Then dress again.

My go to are Meguiar's Ultimate series, because the result/quality/price ratios are unbeatable. The all-wheel-cleaner is a gel, so it will stay in place for the two minutes. I also use the ultimate shine, but in your case try the Endurance in gel, it supposed to be anti-browning. If not Meg, I'd go for Optimum, Griot, Adam's.

I got my Niro in September 2018. The tires on my Mazda is at least 3 years old.

The first time I washed the Niro, I noticed that the tires turning brown pretty soon after. I thought that maybe I didn’t wash them properly. On subsequent washes I made sure to wash and scrub each tire twice and apply dressing twice. But these tires seem to “bloom” pretty aggressively.

I was wondering this behavior is common to this make of tires or is unique to mine. As I mentioned before, the tires on my Mazda are still looking good even though I haven’t washed them in over a month.

I forgot to mention, that mine too turn brown more than the previous set on my previous car, but these also bloomed a little.

I currently have the stock Michelin Energy Saver A/S. Prior to that I had Michelin Defenders.
