I want to remove the rear seat base to possibly route a power cable and coax from the rear storage area for my ham radio. The battery in the storage area is readily available for power and the coax will feed nicely from the rear hatch to the storage area.

I cannot find instructions on how to remove the rear seat base. In my previous car, one had to put pressure in specific areas to release the rear seat.

I am wondering if anyone in this forum has figured this out. Any comments are much appreciated.

On my EV, you must remove the bolts in the back of the rear seat first before pulling up in the front of the rear seat to unlatch it. It has a latch on the left and right like most other rear seats.

To find the bolt, remove the cargo tray and peel back the carpet a little at the base of the rear seat.

@TheAirman is correct. Here's the procedure, specifically for the 2017 HEV but I assume all models are similar, for example my '18 PHEV was exactly as described.

FYI, kniro.net has a wealth of information about the Niro so it's worth bookmarking. Obviously there will be model differences but as a place to start it's a great resource.
