I just found this suv 3rd row seat website for sale and wondering whether these extra row seats be fitting with the Niro cargo space perfectly if we mod it. This will be great idea if there is a small bench seat for children in the Niro. All Niro model has plenty extra under cargo floor space so I guess a little modification for extra small 3rd row seat wouldn't be problem for us. If we could done it, then this will be the first crossover car with third row seat. :D

Fitting in the area is not an issue. It's bolting them in that is the issue.

The entire space behind the second row is a giant spare tire well. Thin sheet metal. The very tip of the top of the arch of the well is right next to the back of the second row.

There are no hard points to install to, without some significant bracket building. There are plenty of hard points though that this project could be done, but at a cost of loosing utility of the trunk space and under deck storage area.

If your state has a state inspection I would worry that the car wouldn't pass a state inspection.

The problem with this is both the front and back of the Niro are designed as crumple zones. They are designed to collapse in the event of a wreck. This makes it a VERY dangerous place to install seating.

In order to make it safe, the structural aspect of the car would have to be redesigned. This would end up costing more than the purchase price of the car due to engineering, welding, and fabricating needed.

So is it possible? Yes. Is it financially feasible? No.
