I have a 2019 NIRO PHEV bought new in April of 2019 - still on the original 12V battery after 65,000 + miles and 5 1/2 years.

No sign of going bad.

Do put a smart charger on it every 4 months overnight and have a Nocco booster if necessary.

The Battery test good and never fails to due its job -so- I am keeping it and seeing how long it will go.

One big advantage of the 12v PHEV battery - if it does go bad a quick trip to Walmart and buying an H4 class battery for $135 and 10 minutes of my time will provide the car with a new battery!

I plan on keeping the car 10 years and the original 12 volt battery if it continues to test good and last that long - as mentioned in the post I do have a Nocco booster.

The car and battery are well maintained and very clean. The Smart Charger I use has a desulfate function and it is put on the car every 4 months overnight- battery always test well and am interested to see how long this battery will last if taken care of.
