Amazon is quickly gaining a foothold in the automotive world via Alexa. First it was with Ford and Genesis, providing drivers with the option to remotely control their vehicles from the comforts of their own homes and now Alexa can become part of your Kia Niro shopping experience.
Together Kia and Amazon has launched Niro Skill, a verbal guide to help potential buyers learn all about the new hybrid crossover. You can ask Alexa questions about the Niro, from product specifications to local inventory and offer queries. A few example questions from Amazon includes, “Ask Kia Niro about pricing,” “Ask Kia Niro what its miles per gallon is,” and “How much space does it have?”
Additionally, shoppers can ask Alexa to schedule a test drive, though the process or specific phrase you need to use was not listed by Amazon, nor was it elaborated upon in Kia’s press release.
“The future is now with user-friendly interfaces such as Amazon Alexa, and Kia is focused on giving our customers convenience and flexibility in the mobile way today’s shoppers are looking for,” said Kia Motors America marketing director Kimberley Gardiner.
Other features may be added at a later date and maybe Niro owners will one day be able to adjust climate controls, lock or unlock the doors, and more. Those functions are already in use by G80 and G90 owners so the capability is there.
