Cargo Cover and other 2023 accessories?

For those who have purchased a 2023 Niro, did you also not receive any form of a cargo cover? I have my dealer looking into why none of the 15+ Niros they got were delivered with the folding fabric cover. The hooks are present so it looks like that's what they it's designed for. It's not much to speak of, but at least it hides what's in the cargo area. I also requested rubber floor mats, a cargo mat and mudflaps. I'll learn about delivery times on all those items this week hopefully.

I was told by the dealer today that the only accessory that interested me that is available is the cargo tray and that is being shipped from Atlanta. So, it may be a month or two I'm told before they start to become available. Part numbers are not yet available on most items. He said this is typical when a new model is released. So, I may have to buy some cheap rubber mats somewhere to get me through the sloppy winter season.

Just get a Notrax 109 Brush Step Entrance Mat, for Home or Office in the 4' x 6' size. These are waterproof, hold dirt and water well, easy to clean (take out shake, vacuum, or hose down) and flexible enough to mold to shape. Its grooved carpeted surface helps keep things from sliding around in the back and is comfortable for pets. Partially fold it in half when the back seat up & unfold it when the seat is lowered to entirely cover your seatbacks if you want to throw a bike, camping gear, plants, firewood... It protects about 1' up the sides of your wheel wells. You can easily cut it to customize the fit if you want. I've used same one in both my smaller wagons (Honda Fit, VW Golf, & now Niro) and 3 x 6 in 3 different Outbacks. Much better than the flimsy, slippery noisy hard rubber or plastic OEM & aftermarket cargo trays. Try it, you will like it!

Thanks! This looks like a nice option. Some of the accessories I'm getting were thrown in as part of the deal. But I could cut these for floor mats for the front seat. It's extremely rare to have someone in the back seat. The rubber cargo mat is already on the way. I did see one in another Niro and it seemed like a softer rubber than the last version but certainly not as soft as the Notrax you suggested.
Notrax makes 2' x 3' mats that are almost a perfect fit for front seats -- with just a bit o creative trimming. That is what I have in my front foot wells. I did get Tuxmat for the rear seat because their very precise tight fit catches all the crumbs my granddaughter manages to "deposit" there. 😍

A 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross is 1825 mm wide and a 2023 Niro is also 1825 mm wide (New car search engine by dimensions and large boot space). There is a retractable cargo cover available for the Corolla, but none for the 2023 Niro as of 11/11/2022. What do you think are the odds the Corolla retractable cover will fit and cover properly in a Niro?

I don't think the issue is whether it would fit, but how it would be held in place. My 2020 Niro had a really nice retractable cargo cover with holes where it mounted with tension and side hooks to retain it when it was extended. The cover made for the 2023 will not impress most people but at least it will hide the cargo area contents. I'm still waiting on my cargo mat which was supposed to be in stock at a warehouse back east. It has been 3 weeks so I guess I'm learning to have lots of patience. The cargo cover, rubber floor mats and mudflaps are also in limbo. Does anyone with the new generation Niro have any of the accessories other than carpeted floor mats yet?
Nope, I didn't get the cargo cover either. Didn't see anything saying it was included with the SX Touring. Hope I can get one in the coming months.

Contacted the place I buy most accessories from and was told weather tech floor mats should be out by February.
I doubt the cargo cover has much more than a $10 value but I have no idea what it might retail for. The hooks are in place on the tailgate which raises it up when the hatch is opened. If you've ever seen the collapsible sun shields for the front windshield that are sold in pairs and fold into a circular form to be slid into a pouch, then you know exactly what Kia has designed for the new Niro. It's basically one of those sun shields and yes, it does have a pouch to store it in. It weighs about a pound or two if I had to guess.

I currently own a 2021 Seltos and it also had no cargo cover. I purchased one for it and that cover came with the holders to put the retractable roll in and also hooks for the tailgate to hold the cover closed. The screws for the holders and hooks came with the cover. I can take the retractable bar out of the holders when I choose to put the seats down and want uninterrupted space in the cargo area.

Has anybody out there found a retractable cargo cover that fits the 2023 Niro?
Finally, some of the 2023 accessories are beginning to come into the dealerships here in Denver. Today, I got the mudflaps (which by the way are extremely tiny so we'll see if they really help much with keeping the black door panel trim staying a bit cleaner). The cargo mat will be in on Tuesday. I forgot to ask about the cargo cover but if they don't arrive fairly soon I may just pick one up the next time I'm in Europe. I highly doubt that any after-market retractable cover would work. I don't see any holes that would support a spring-loaded one but I do see the little hooks that hold the foldable nylon cover up as the hatch opens. I decided against the all-weather floor mats because I'll likely go with WeatherTech or something similar when they become available.
The service department guy recommended them over what will ultimately be available from Kia anyway. His favorite is WeatherTech because he thought the Tuxmats weren't as attractive for some reason. I've never seen them so I'll have to do some more research.

Wait, the cargo covers are available in Europe?

regarding the cargo mat, when you get it please let us know if it”s rubbery/grippy or vinyl/smooth. We have had Weathertech in the past, and I’ve realized that I much prefer a rubbery grip so things don’t slide around.
Actually, I’m more interested in the cargo tray than the mat. The mat seems to just be carpeted?

Yes, they are available there. I had one in my own hands in Oslo in September. You'll see the plastic hooks for it in your 2023. It's incredibly cheap and to be honest, I wasn't impressed. Think flimsy nylon that folds into a circular pouch that weighs a pound or two which is helpful to reduce overall vehicle weight. But I'd like to get one to hide the contents if nothing else. I doubt it would keep projectiles flying out of that area in the case of an accident. I did see the PHEV cargo mat at the dealer today and I wouldn't call it "rubbery" so you probably won't like it. I won't get it until late this month because I'm leaving tomorrow on a trip.
Interesting. We happen to be going on vacation over the holidays where we’ll be spending an overnight in Paris. Would love to get the cargo cover while we’re there. Probably won’t happen, but still
It may still be coming here next year. But if it doesn't, I'd consider picking one up overseas as well. It certainly will be easy to pack!
how do you like mudguards and are they easy to install? Not seeing any at online dealers yet

Has anybody out there found a retractable cargo cover that fits the 2023 Niro?
The width of a 2023 Seltos is 62.4" and the width of a 2023 Niro is 62.8". I have purchased a 2023 retractable cargo cover for a 2023 Seltos and will see if will work in the 2023 Niro. I have seen no retractable cargo cover for the 2023 Niro yet. I'll let you know how this works once my 2023 SX with dual level cargo board arrives. I will also let you know if a donut spare can fit in the SX with dual level cargo board if the subwoofers are removed.

The mudguards are very small but look attractive. I did not install them but the salesperson actually did that in just a few minutes so I'm sure it's easy. They seem about half the size of those on the Gen 1 Niro. I asked the salesperson how they could be effective at such a small size and in so many words he told me that it's all in the design. So, it can't hurt to have them and maybe they'll keep the occasional small puddle splash off of the black door panels, etc.

Can you share Kia part number? I see them mentioned in the kia price sheet but nobody seems to have them for sale yet
