Cargo Cover and other 2023 accessories?

For those who have purchased a 2023 Niro, did you also not receive any form of a cargo cover? I have my dealer looking into why none of the 15+ Niros they got were delivered with the folding fabric cover. The hooks are present so it looks like that's what they it's designed for. It's not much to speak of, but at least it hides what's in the cargo area. I also requested rubber floor mats, a cargo mat and mudflaps. I'll learn about delivery times on all those items this week hopefully.

So, it's a panel that flips up with the hatch? Somehow I thought it was a roller-shade design. If so, this makes it much more interesting. A similar designed cargo cover was one of the few things that I liked about my 2018 Buick Encore.

Yes it is. It's very lightweight. And quite easy to install.

I too was expecting a roll up cover. This is almost identical to what my Bolt had. It has it's pros and cons compared to a roll up. But in almost all cases it does what it's supposed to.

This is the one I saw in Europe that folds up in a circular shape just like sunshades for the front windshield do. Tons of markup in this but it does hide things and helps keep the overall weight of the vehicle down. I'm guessing it weighs 2 or 3 lbs. at the most. I'm inclined to get one at some point despite the price.

How/Where does it attach at the seat end?

From what I can tell, it has four attachment points. Two are with the long strings connected to the lift-gate, and the other two at the sides closer to the seats. This $150 model is almost identical to the $10 model in post #37. And they both, do not connect or our attached to the rear seats.

Prior to these pics the only thing I had found on the internet was this random YouTube short

I wish there was a more solid parcel shelf option that items could be placed on top of, oh well. The really cool thing about the HEV is the underfloor cargo storage that keeps quite a lot out of sight without drawing attention. Not sure if I’m going to get this folding sunshade cargo cover, maybe in a while if it drops below $75 from online Kia parts sellers…

Just bought a 2023 Niro EV and I want a cargo cover as well as I may install a subwoofer in the cargo area and don't want it exposed, plus if I ever have anything of value back there. The 2023 Niro only has two latches on either side behind the back seats, I suppose they could hold a roller bar, but there are no latches or track on the other end to hold a cover open, just two more latches which are lower down. Looks like it's only intended to hold a cargo net. By the looks of it, KIA didn't plan on making a cargo cover for the 2023 Niro. I suppose if you get something with the correct width you could modify it to fit. Bummer! Disappointing, guess that was one more area they tried to save a few bucks, no charger, no spare tire and no cargo cover!

Yeah, I actually found it on KIA's website weeks ago, but of course no images, description or specs. Checked the part number all over the web and only one site had it, but it was a cargo net, don't think it was correct. Based on the layout and type of the latches in the cargo area I can't imagine it's going to look very pretty or fit very flush.

I posted photos of the cargo cover. I ordered it a few weeks ago. The description comes up as a cargo net but it's the cover.

How easy would this be to remove and store? Having just taken a trip in our Niro, bags and luggage was piled to the top of the seat… it looks like that would be a problem with the cover in place.

Niros in the UK are supplied with the cargo cover. It does roll up and a bag is supplied to keep it. I keep mine in place all the time unless I need to fold the seats down to carry a large load. It's simple to remove being fixed by 4 elasticated loops which fasten over plastic hooks.

Extremely easy, unhook from trunk door and side clips, and fold. Just like you would with a one piece sunscreen. Folds into an easy to store cover.

OK, just received and installed the soft cargo screen cover.
Google the part number for the best price.
Its a cloth screen attached to posts on the inside of the hatch door and with cloth loops onto the plastic "T-Hooks" at the inner sides of the trunk area.
I like it better and its more portable than the roller cargo cover in my 2020 model.
It comes in a bag as you can curl and fold it like a sun screen.
