I was running errands and after one trip, I notice that the black button on the driver side door handle is missing. Has this happened to anyone? I think I would have noticed it when I first got in at home.

Now the question is where can I find the replacement part? I hope I can just replace that black button cover and I don’t have to replace the whole door handle.

A NIRO is not the ideal vehicle to travel 80 mph in, I don't wonder you have some power issues.

Out west in South Dakota the speed limit is 80. I remember driving 80 to 85 in our Toyota Sienna and thinking how I was happy I was not in our Prius. I would have been frightened for our life going 80 to 85 in a Prius and would have the same fear going that speed in our NIRO.

I think you posted this in the wrong thread, this is about the door handle push button.

Hey the Prius was awesome LOL. In 2006 we took our 2005 Prius across the country from Pa. to Ca. and back with no problems. That little Prius took the 3 of us and luggage no problem. That little engine did the job and made me think this little Prius is one tough car.:D

Kia Niro is much better than the Prius, it has more room and gets better mileage, acceleration is better, I can and have carried 2 medical scooters plus luggage and it didn't affect the great mileage, I can drive all over town on the battery and even on the super highway at 65-70 mph run on battery, the roominess is great , in the Prius I was cramped and hit my head every time getting in and out, love the a/c, the gas engine only starts to charge the battery, and usually for only 3 minutes tops while I keep it cool while my wife is shopping or at the doctors

You are right Jim, I am a long time Prius person. I never thought I would purchase a Kia. I was continually hitting my head getting into my prius. I test drove the Kia niro and wow the head room and sitting up higher and the feel of this car is great. I just like my new 22 Kia niro pearl white ex.

Can't knock the Prius for what it is. Got a 2005 Prius with over 150k on it about 2 years ago from a friend after someone stole their catalytic converter. Hard-driven car that lived in Manhattan NY but made a lot of camping trips. I've spent a few bucks on it but it's been very reliable. Still on the road and going strong, with original battery pack. I've replaced the 12V battery but the main pack and car are still good. A family member has been driving it.

Anyhow, hope your buttons stay on. It would be nice to get my Niro EV to 100k. We'll see. About 11k now.

Dropped the car off at the dealer. It was a bit of touch and go because even though my wife had called to schedule the appointment and they knew what the issue was, when I got there the service guy wasn’t sure what part was needed for the repair or if they even had it in stock. But they took the car and the repair was done under warranty the same day. I tested to make sure that I could unlock the car with the button and so far so good.
