Growling noise when accelerating from a stop....

Has anyone else heard this very intermittent growling noise upon acceleration from a stop? It's very hit or miss but definitely coming from the rear wheel area or somewhere in the back end of the vehicle on the underside. It's about 1 or 2 seconds in length and is gone after you hit 1 or 2 mph most likely. It almost sounds like a cross between a quiet fog horn and a growl. I'm guessing it happens every 10 or 15 stops, if that. Any thoughts? Oh, and it doesn't seem to matter whether I have Autohold engaged or not. Thanks for your feedback. I'll be at the dealer tomorrow just to get a quick fluid and tire check before my next road trip to PHX so I'll ask them if there's any bulletin about it.

My Niro is in for its first service now and they told me they weren't able to replicate the noise which I knew would be the case. What can you say in this situation? I must admit that the noise seems less frequent now. They are also taking care of the recall. They gave me a loaner because my A/C quit working and they need to order a part. I'll mention that in a new post once I hear what the issue was. The service department has been great so far and they gave me a loaner which is a new Niro HEV EX with the lower profile tires. The ride is a bit bumpier and noisier than my SX but I am enjoying better cornering and handling characteristics as I expected.
At least it sounds like you have a good dealer that's trying. A lot of dealers wouldn't give you a loaner at least without you begging and screaming.

Just curious...what A/C part did they need to order? By chance was it an evaporator?

I'll know for sure once I pick the car up but they said verbally told me the "O-rings of the discharge and suction hoses were leaking". I'm not sure if they just ordered O-rings or another part but once I know for sure what this issue was I'll post it in a new thread. And yes, I'm grateful for my dealer giving me a loaner. If any of you are here in Denver, I highly recommend Peak Kia for great service and personable, friendly salespeople.
