Hey all. I'm at 118,022 miles and just had to replace the driver's side headlight. Pretty simple. The bulb that came in the car is a 9005HL+. Walmart didn't have so I got a 9005 xtravision. Looks similar in color and brightness. I'll let you know if the car blows up or anything.

To let you know, orange triangle light came on on dash to let me know it was out. Went over to it on menu and it said check headlamp or headlamp out. Something like that.

Well the car was bought new September 1st 2017. But mileage does play some factor. Probably more than time. But there are other factors such as daytime to nighttime driving ratio. Type of roads driven on. Do you have a lot of rainy days with headlights on. I have a 2005 truck with 60000miles. Original headlights because they just sit in a dormant state. People that see my posts generally know I am the road warrior for the group and I just like to let everyone know the issues that arise through my abuse of my vehicle. That being said, two light bulbs, 1set of tires, some wiper blades and oil changes is not bad for 120000 miles. Original air filter, no alignment, and no I have not changed the actuator fluid 6 times as Kia recommended.

halogen, higher the output shorter the life. I think OEM bulbs are LongLife bulbs. considering how cheap LED replacements are, you should consider one in the $40-$50 range for extra life and increase brightness.
He won't. @Gbillyg123 is our pioneer for experimenting with spending the least amount possible to keep the Niro on the road. He's the hero we need but don't deserve :D

With less than six months left of ownership of this car, you can believe I won't put any money into it that I don't need to. When I get my next one maybe I will put a few bucks in it at the beginning. I hope my spare tire I bought fits the new one.

So yeah since this is all Walmart had, I guess the life expectancy is 36000 miles. The other one went out today. I will still probably buy another cheap bulb and hope I make it to 200,000. Maybe I'll use my headlights less to conserve them.
