The Kia Niro is making its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show following its world debut in Chicago earlier this year. European sales are to begin in Q3.

The crossover-inspired hybrid combines a 105-horsepower 1.6-liter petrol GDI engine with a 44-hp electric motor and a 1.56-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack. The system’s combined output stands at 141 hp (104 kW), channeled to the wheels through a 6-speed double-clutch transmission (6DCT), with a maximum 195 pound-feet (264 newton meteres) torque available in first gear. Kia says it’s targeting sub-89 grams per kilometer of CO2 emissions on combined cycle.

With all the amazing vehicles at the show, the Niro probably had really slow foot traffic. Even a special trim Corvette didn't get much attention, Europeans don't care about this as much.... at the Geneva show.

Still good to see it in the flesh like this.

I think they are going for the whole SUV but kinda low to the ground like a hatchback thing that we have been seeing from some brands recently. I get what you are saying, but its really only a problem if it ends up having some effect on the capabilities of the vehicle.

Over snow, lots and lots of snow in the winter. I've seen plenty of people stuck and would have been stranded at home one winter without my brother's taller ride. And maybe some off road trips too.

Also, Kia is already taking pre-orders for the Niro so Europeans should be able to do the same soon.
