Kia has recruited actress Melissa McCarthy for the 2017 Niro’s television debut this week.
The actress who won the Favorite Comedic Movie Actress award this year has her voice featured in two 25-second TV ads. Titled 'Needs & Wants' and 'Many Names', the teasers are part of Kia’s expanding Super Bowl LI marketing campaign that will end with a 60-second piece set to air during the Super Bowl.
Created by automaker's advertising agency, David&Goliath, the ads highlight the NIro’s "no-compromise combination of driving enjoyment, eye-catching design, functional utility, and hybrid efficiency". It strikes a balance between the hybrid-electric vehicle and CUV segments.
Quoted on CarScoops, Kia Motors America's CEO and EVP, Michael Sprague said "We’ve got a fantastic story to tell about the Niro’s uniquely alluring yet practical package, and the incredibly talented Melissa McCarthy is the perfect partner to help us do it".
We can expect to see what could be the funniest ad of the Big Game on February 5. What better team is there than Melissa McCarthy and a 146 HP, 1.6-liter petrol powered Niro?
