EV 3 does not compete with Niro hybrid or PHEV. In the long distances in the US and other markets charging slower than the EV6 is a significant problem. The Niro EV may go away but the pure hybrid and PHEV are aimed at different markets. The PHEV in particular acts as a full EV as long as your daily usage is under 33 miles. I think we have put in 4 gallons for 2000 miles. Finding one was the only major issue.

Real world is closer to 40 miles, but the PHEV really doesn't match an EV in many ways. It doesn't have near the same amount of power, and that's a huge difference. It can't DC charge, so charging is close to 3 hours with a drained battery. There's other, minor differences as well.

I don't believe I said the Niro HEV or PHEV would be discontinued, only the EV would be affected if the EV3 is offered in the same market.

As far as charging speed goes, the EV3 can charge from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes. I took a recent trip from Virginia to Michigan and for giggles, I tried planning the trip as if I had an EV. It would have required one stop to charge about the time we would have stopped for lunch anyway so it would have not been an issue. The hypothetical EV would have charged while we were eating lunch. Our HEV, on the hand, actually went the entire 500 miles on a single tank.
