Hi all. Do you all know if Kia offers washable rear seat covers? I know the Fit has "wetsuit-like" covers custom made for the rear seats. Just wondering if anyone knows if Kia offers something similar or if there's somewhere else that can make them for the Niro. (My future Niro, which will haul myself and my two dogs, thanks you!)

Kia does not make this. If I see a third party I will let you know because I also haul my dog around. I did get the all-weather floor mats and recommend them, much easier to vacuum.

Thanks so much for this link! This actually looks pretty dang perfect. Love that the rear ac vents won't be wasted with this design and that my dogs won't fall off the seat, either!

Does it wash well? I know the website claims its washable, but is it really? How easy (or not) is it to install? Thanks!

Not sure you need a big protector like that for a newborn or any kid (I have a 3 year old). Most messes kids make will stay in their seat. I do take a towel and put it under the car seat before I install it, more to protect the car from the seat than from the kid.

We had a Chicco KeyFit30 infant seat when she was an infant and now have a Graco 4Ever for her convertible. Happy with both. PS I would certain recommend an infant seat at first. Might be cheaper to go straight to the convertible but, if money isn't a major issue, you will be very happy with being able to pull a sleeping baby in and out of the car without rousing them by pulling them out of the seat. Maybe not at the newborn stage when they'll probably sleep through it, but certainly at a few/several months when they very well may not.

Be careful. in my owners manual, page 3-14 (safety features) it talks about a vent on the drivers side under the seat. 'Do Not put objects on the left side of rear seats. This could block the battery cooling duct causing battery degradation'. So sort of facing the rear door - drivers side, there are some vents. My understanding is that you do not want to block those with any sort of seat cover

There is a battery air vent on both sides of the passenger seats. Just make a cut out there.

The Grip tight hammock looks like something my friend has and since it leans away from the front seats, it doesn't really block anything. Plus it's fun to mess with them through the mesh.
