Why does Kia not offer Roof Rack Cross Bars for the 2018 Niro PHEV?

The 2018 NIRO PLUG-IN Accessories Guide does not offer them, so Dealers are not allowing me to order them, but they can't give me any good reason why not!

Hi, the Kia bars seem way overpriced anyway, but a number of us have gone this route!

As long as the PHEV is the same width as a HEV, and if you have the rail mounts installed as the HEV does, this should give you some options! I hope this helps!!

I just got my Niro PHEV EX Premium the day before yesterday. Cross bars were one of the options I asked for. They put them on with no problem.

Looking at the invoice sheet (that I got before going to dealer), it says the cross bars are available on all trims.

Something sounds fishy if they aren't even saying you 'can' get them.

Revised cross bars for Niro PHEV

So, I just found out the cross bars that are options for the Niro Hybrid (Part #: G5211 ADE00AL) do not fit the Niro PHEV. That's why they weren't in the 2018 PHEV Accessories Guide and why dealers did not want to order them for me.

For the Niro PHEV, Kia has just introduced revised cross bars (Part #: G5211 ADX00AL) that I was able to order on www.mykiaparts.com.

Mystery solved.

Interesting that they have a lower load rating than the OEM Kia crossbars.
