You're talking about the silver metallic paint in the rails themselves? I've got ~45,000 miles on my 2018 but I haven't noticed any paint fading anywhere. Is your car normally parked outside and exposed to the sun and weather? That would definitely be harder on the paint. However, modern finishes should be more durable than that.

The paint on my 2017 Niro looks great except on my roof rails which seems to look faded or abraded away. The endcaps look good, just the body of the racks. Has this happened to anybody else?
Yes, my 2017 has been like that for almost a year! My door handle fell off in my hand last week. You may want to watch for that to happen as well. It appears it is a common issue caused by an over torqued part in the handle cap. There is not a recall on this, but there is a Technical Service Bulletin. I called my dealership and they refused to replace it since it is not covered under warranty and they don't consider it a safety hazard. I'm getting very disgruntled with my vehicle and I am looking to get something else. Possibly going back to a Hyundai.

Same here on my 2017 Touring with just 20k on it and always parked inside the garage
The roof rails seem to be completely fading, blotchy and not looking at all good

I just bought a 2017 EX Hybrid, and my roof rails are faded as well, didn't notice it before purchase, I did look up the paint warranty and its 3yr 36k miles i'm out on the miles it has 59200 on it, i was thinking hopefully it would be covered under the 5yr 60k at least.

Yes, may 2019 Kia Niro top rails look like they are sand blasted. the front and back curved pieces are shiny like the paint on the rest of the car, but the center straight rails started going flat, or matte finish about 6 months after the car was purchased. Now they are totally flat silver and I know that it is a defect in the finish of those parts. They were not sealed correctly and I will be getting them replaced for free because of the defective prep done on them.

Paint is not one of Kia's forte (Pardon the pun). I have a 2018 Niro and the black spoiler along with other black pieces are very faded. I brought it to the dealers attention. Since I was 3 months over the paint warranty they took a bunch of pictures and sent them to Kia for approval to get them repainted. Of course Kia denied it. We have a 2014 Sedona and the lift gate piece around the logo and the logo and now the right front fender all are faded. Kia needs to use better paint.
