I’m looking to add extra protection for my catalytic converter by installing a tilt sensor. The sensor itself has great reviews but it’s still very unclear if it can be connected to the factory alarm if that alarm is not a viper/python!

If they will steal the catalytic converter, they do not have to move or tilt the car ...

Unlikely it can be wired into the existing car alarm without significant knowledge about how it's wired and designed.

I've read that Pickups and SUVs are preferred targets, because they are higher off the ground and easier to get under. But I saw something today that suggested that Toyota Prius is also a high frequency target (and you'd definitely have to jack up one of those to steal the catalytic converter). That same article mentioned two products to protect against this kind of theft: "cat strap" and "cat clamp". These are easily found via a Google search. But I don't have first-hand experience with either of them.
