You have packed an amount for your fun, that equals the amount of gear my wife & I would pack up on our yearly sojourn to the Reno Air Races every September.... Nice!!
What was mpg carrying all that tonnage around?? I'll be the first one to admit, if you can't take it with you on vacation, why go??? We even had a small microwave with us, for years, that made life bearable!!
It's nice we can pack all that stuff, you sure can't pack a Prius like that!!
Well, I don't know how much weight there actually is for it. I honestly don't think it changes it too much. If anything I think the distance we drive caused the most difference. Still average between 44-50, depending on how bat-poop crazy I drive.
No, but there is a weight limitation in the cargo area, especially in the base model. I ripped out the seat and the cargo area crap and covered the whole thing with 3/4 plywood. Nicely done of course with carpet and insulation, but effectively no weight limit. I did it more to carry a bicycle inside upright and still sleep in the car, but I could haul a lot of heavy stuff if I needed to.
Nice job - - I'm camping next to you in case I need to borrow something. Did I see a kitchen sink? One reason I bought my Niro over other brands - - ROOM to put stuff. Thanks
I would assume that is only with a driver and a passenger. I figure that there shouldn't be much mpg loss as it probably ways less than transporting 2 more adults in the back seat. I am looking to get the roof bars and rack for mine.
LOVE IT... my wife and I used to have a Toyota Solaria convertible and went camping to the Keys and everyone around us could not believe all that we fit in the trunk and back seat...
P.S. Just bought my Kiro Niro 6 weeks ago and ABSOLUTELY love it....averaging on the first 3 tank fulls 53mpg...
I'm really excited to take my Niro camping. Unfortunately I bough it right before winter started, so I'll have to wait. I'm enjoying reading people's ideas and experiences in this thread. I'm tempted to pack the car up for a pretend camping trip just so I can see how it all fits!
