Niro engine swap

I'm swapping an engine on a friend's 2017 Niro (Overheating issue plaguing them all and it's puking coolant out the tailpipe), and i found an engine out of a 2020 and they are telling me it won't fit. Everything i've read says the engines are all the same all through 2022 MY. Am I missing something? Was there a change in 2018 that's not well documented? It looks like at least the long block will fit.

Did anyone ever determine compatibility. I have a 17 niro with 190k blown headgasket(ran some head gasket liquid in a bottle and it acted as a bandaid for about a year), random misfires, replaced the injectors to all cylinders and all spark plugs after the Stealership gave my wife a bogus diagnostic. Codes for random misfires and individual cylinder misfires. Stealership diagnostic was that in order to diagnose they had to change the #1 injector to make sure nothing else was causing it before they could diagnose further. So I replaced everything myself and still have the same issue. If I was a gambling man I would lean towards low compression in Cylinder 1 or 2 but I don't have a computer to turn it over and check compression. Looking to replace the engine and hybrid unit together. Wondering if anyone knows compatible years. I have found a 2019 with low mileage and am looking to pull and swap.
