A couple of days ago, the cruise control button stopped working, it doesn't 'travel' the same way it used to and I can't use cruise control as a result.

I can't figure out how to take the button off. Anyone have advice on fixing the button, without breaking it?

Sounds like the button might be physically worn or stuck. If it’s on the steering wheel, many cruise control switches are part of a replaceable switch assembly. Usually, you’ll need to remove the airbag first (disconnect the battery and wait ~15 mins for safety), then remove the screws holding the switch.

Be gentle—don’t pry hard or you might crack the trim. If it's a column stalk, it may require removing the steering column cover.

A service manual or YouTube video for your specific vehicle can really help. What vehicle/year is it? I might be able to give more exact steps.
