These are the parts that have been changed in the service report. My problem seems to be largely solved, but I am not completely cured. I tested the car this morning and noticed that it repeated the same issue a few times, stuttering on takeoffs. I have to prove to them again this not so often repeated situation. The dealer said they wouldn't do anything if the problem didn't show up in the test drive. The fight is starting again... I regret so much that I bought a Kia Niro... Why is this fucking kia clutch problem Kia not doing anything about it?

ps: After this issue just come out one more issue :( All engine light turned on and I'm still waiting for get back... Don't buy Kia!!!!!!

I'm not saying the same problem exists, just why gear engagement isn't so jerky on take offs or on top of hils on other hybrid models.
 
I got 2019 niro phev on August 2019. It happeans full stop on stop sign and go only in the morning at one time once a month the first year. Now It happens once a day even daytime on stop and go on EV mode. Dealer said don't worry you got warranty. Bring the car has more problems not intermittently happened. Even though I dropped car, they can't find it because it's randomly happened. It scared me a lot when it happened.
 
I just got a used 2019 with low miles and it happens almost once a day. I found this forum and post, thank God. Going to bring it in and hopefully they can use this. Just wondering how long they'll have it for and hopefully they replicate it. Any updates with a recall? I recommend filing a complaint with them here. I just did: Report a Safety Problem | NHTSA
 
I have a 2019 Niro PHEV built in Jan 2019. Thankfully I have not noticed any jerking issues.
It would be helpful for if all who have had this problem would share the last 4 digits of their serial numbers and the build date as that may help to narrow down the potential of a bad bunch of parts.
How do we find the serial number? VIN number you mean?

Serial number -- yeah, should have said VIN! My bad. Anyway would be good to know that as well you your production date. Easy to find, just open driver's door & look on the vertical doorpost for plaque with that info.
 
Hi everyone,I got my Niro in Nov 2019 so I think I'm in that batch. I'm at 42000 miles and the problem just started. Doesn't look like anyone has posted about this for a few years. For those that did, what was the resolution? New transmission replacement? It should be covered under warranty correct? Thank you
 
HI everyone, I have a 2019 PHEV (we got it in Nov) so I'm assuming were in the unlucky batch. Just started having this issue at 42000 miles. Any resolution? I saw Doug's youtube video said he just had the transmission fluid changed?
but then others have had their entire transmission replaced? What have you done to fix the problem? Thanks!
 
I have a 2019 Niro hybrid and have experienced the intermittent jerking/clunk noise on acceleration from a stop. The dealership couldn't duplicate but said to bring it back if it happened again. The third time I went to the dealer they were able to duplicate the problem and said there is a TSB that said some produced during 2019 were filled with the wrong transmission fluid. They replaced the fluid but it fell under 'maintenance' and woudn't be covered by the warranty. $225 later, I'm steamed and calling Kia US. I don't believe we should have to pay for what is a factory defect. Anyone have any luck getting reimbursed? Time will tell if the new fluid actually fixed the problem.
 
I just brought mine in today to the dealership. I showed them the TSB statement. I"ll let you know if I will need to pay for this or not. Honestly , I just want to problem to go away. It can't be good for the transmission.

Good luck. If there is a recall, they are required to fix it for free. If it's a TSB, it's not required if the vehicle is out of warranty. The Difference Between Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins
 
I got my car back last week and it was covered under the warranty. No charge. But it also might be because my scheduler 'agent' screwed up my appointment and did me solid. Not sure. I did have to personally go to the dealership and drive around with the technician and after about 5-10 mins , it happened and we took it back and he followed the instructions on the NTSB Bulletin. Hopefully this helps anyone who happens to have this issue.
