Zack, what year and model Niro do you have? Some models/years have an SD card and the update can't be done via USB.

I want to do the first navigation update on Kia Niro EV 2020 but at any time, I get "No Supported Files" error. Please double check the followings and inform the correct way to do this update:

Navigation Updater | Official Kia Motors Navigation Update Website --> install NavitagationUpdateSetup.exe.

In the installed Navigation Update tool --> Guest --> Choose 2020 Niro Electric (cannot find my firmware version in the list. So, I kept the version empty) --> Download files. Move them to a USB stick.

The USB stick is 32GB, USB2 (SanDisk Cruizer), and I formatted it in FAT32. It works fine to play media on the car and therefore, both car USB port and flash memory are fine. All the update files are placed in the root (2021_Niro_Electric) and there is no media file in the USB stick.

Sounds like you got the wrong files...

Did you read this:

Scroll down to the section on updating.

Post a listing of the files on your memory stick, should look like this:

No success. I did a slow format, moved the files again to the USB stick and got the same error.

I think, there might be a bug or the files somehow got corrupted (on the server, during the file transfer, etc.). I see whether I can contact Kia for possible solutions.

I'm a little confused... you have not been able to do the update, so what is very slow?, I believe you have some other issue, either corrupted files, or a bad flash drive, or not following the update procedure.

Getting new files won't change your problem, unless you have corrupted files, and I offered to get them to you.

Up to you, you may just experience the same failure in March.

I've updated my car twice since new, no issues once I got the right files.

Hey all, I've got a 2019 EV (non huge screen, it's 8 inches I think) with no SD card slot. I put the files on a USB stick and I'm just getting the sounds playing as others have mentioned.

I've noticed in the Navigation Updater software that the 2019 model lists "SD Card" as the portable storage device and only when selecting the 2020 model does USB in that field. Without an SD slot, am I out of luck in terms of a 2019 non-premium software update?

The 2019 should definitely have an SD card slot. It should be under a cover right above the hazard button under the screen.

I hate to bust people's ego's .... BUT .... the frigg'n DEALERSHIP should be update'n ANY firmware/software updates/upgrades. Like all of the KIA dealerships around here, KIA claims they don't have the 'expertise' to "do that". Yet, WE (the customer) are required to jump through hoops (that the Dealership can't/won't) to "hopefully "get er done". BS! Get off yer butts KIA, get the 'appropriate' training and do .. YOUR job! We've PAID for our vehicles and KIA's associated warranties/privileges. No more "pass'n the buck"!
